When will it stop? For decades the exploitation of
Nepal's water resources for southern neighboring country
is going on without any change. It continued during
the pre-democracy period, democracy period, panchyat
period; and after the restoration of democracy also!
People consider water as a resource, I do not agree
with that concept and consider water in a broader sense
as a raw-material which should be used optimally for
the benefit of the country to produce various by products.
It may be electricity, agriculture products through
the irrigation, oxygen and hydrogen gases, via the process
of electrolysis, ionization and many others.
In Nepal it is only 14% of people who have access to
electricity and 86% of people still have to undergo
their activities without electricity. The modern electrical
appliances, communication medium like facsimile, e-mail
and information technology are all not only beyond their
reach-but for most of them these are unknown commodities.
It may sound odd and very rude to say but; 86% of people
of Nepal are still living physically in 18th century
atmosphere in this 21st century period.
Every body says such condition must change-But how!
We believe that supply of cheap, affordable and sustainable
hydropower is one of the solutions to bring changes
in the life of 86% of Nepalese people. With this concept
we have decided not to follow the NEA's increased Tariff
rate for our supply area of Mustang district, where
we provide electricity from leased plant of Chokhopani
to Jomsom and adjoining villages. We also believe that
to make the energy affordable, its generation price
must be reduced considerably, because in today's price
the energy will be unaffordable to many poor and even
to lower middle class population.
With this objective we have come on the field and established
this organization. However, we noticed things are not
so easy. The rampant corruption in bureaucracy and political
sector of present day Nepal left us far behind, simply
because we are determined not to support the corruption
and give any bribe. This does not mean we have run away
and left the field rather we are more focused to fight
the situation and turn it to the people's favor, which
we hope, will come one day!
At present we are concentrating in small projects like
Khani Khola (1MW), Langtang Khola (10 MW in J.V.) and
Dudh Khola. We are open for any other major project
in J.V. and welcome international partners.
We have established a good operation and maintenance
wing and consultancy service to provide support to any
hydropower plant. Our team consists of highly qualified
and well-experienced professionals who are capable of
running the hydropower ranging from few 100 KW to few
100 MW capacity and undertaking feasibility to detail
study of any hydropower plant.
I take this opportunity to thank you all and invite
for any kind of cooperation be it a J.V. for major projects,
loan or any other type of funding suitable to you, your
friends or organization or services for operation and
maintenance of any hydropower plant or consultancy services.
Thanking you,
